Ralph, whose death shocked and saddened us all, was an outstanding journalist every month for every year that we were privileged to work with him at The Philadelphia Inquirer. We can think of no higher compliment than to give an award that reflects the high professional standards and caring and sharing attitude that Ralph brought to his work and everything else in life that he did.
